Abstract

Penelitian betujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa pada teks recount melalui strategi Listen-Read-Discuss. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan di Kelas X SMAN 2 Gunung Sahilan tahun pelajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan catatan lapangan, dan tes membaca sebagai instrument dan menganalisis data secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. secara kualitatif, peneliti menganalisis data dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dan secara kuantitatif, peneliti menganalisis data hasil tes yang dihitung dengan nilai rata-rata pada setiap siklusnya. Berdasarkan hasil data penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman membaca siswa dan aktivitas membaca di ruang kelas yang ditunjukkan dari kinerja siswa yang meningkat dari siklus pertama ke siklus kedua. Lebih lanjut, hasil data kuantitatif menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pemahaman membaca siswa pada siklus pertama dan siklus kedua juga meningkat. Strategi Listen Read Discuss dapat mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam memahami teks bahan bacaan yang lebih panjang dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan.
